A popular model that embodies the brand, “POLITICIAN” makes a bold statement.

The substantial front highlights the beauty of its meticulously polished surfaces, while the cuts along the lower rims add just the right touch of sharpness. True to its name, “POLITICIAN,” this pair exudes both intelligence and gravitas.

While retaining the substantial feel unique to acetate frames rooted in French vintage design, the compact 42-size front and slightly wider 28 mm bridge create a distinctive rhythm. Its balance—with a small overall size yet a sense of breathing room in its proportions—has the characteristic French-vintage twist that makes this size so appealing.

The hinges are made of brass, a material long favored for vintage eyewear. The patina that develops with wear is one of the pleasures unique to this model. At the joint, an advanced technique is used to diagonally cut the frame and hinges together after assembly, showcasing the artisan’s exceptional skill in finishing materials of differing hardness as one seamless piece.

Clear brown acetate lends a soft warmth to the model’s distinctive, substantial form, adding depth and approachability to the wearer’s expression. This refined, balanced colorway adds a gentle touch of color to any look while preserving the frame’s classic character.

Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand
Brand logo
Established in 1921 in Oyonnax, in the Jura region of France. Oyonnax was known for its comb production, and when celluloid became widely used, Max Pittion transformed his father’s comb factory into an eyewear factory called "Pittion Lunetterie" and founded the brand.

Dedicated to quality and unique coloring, the brand grew into a world-class eyewear manufacturer within a single generation. Max Pittion was also involved in the founding of "SILMO," one of the world's largest international eyewear trade fairs, leaving a significant impact on the eyewear industry.

In the 1960s and 70s, the sophisticated designs of MAX PITTION gained popularity among artists and actors, earning global recognition. However, at the height of its success, the brand announced a temporary hiatus.

In 2023, his son, Bernard Pittion, entrusted the revival of the brand to Tommy O'Gara of The LIGHT Co., Ltd., who has faithfully recreated the original designs.

Since then, craftsmen in Sabae, Fukui, Japan, have been collaborating with the French team to produce the highest quality eyewear.
