The "LE CHAT" is a cat-eye model with a striking, sharp browline that lifts the eyes.

While cat-eye shapes can often lean feminine, this model maintains ample vertical lens height and features a bold, substantial rim, giving it a strong, non-sweet character. This balanced cat-eye shape allows it to be worn naturally by both women and men.

The top of the front features a bold cut, while the extended bridge adds depth and presence to the profile. The accentuated edges create an elegant yet avant-garde look with a distinctive sense of tension.

The temples are designed to be slightly slimmer than those of previous models, creating a more streamlined overall impression while ensuring a more precise fit and greater comfort.

The hinges are made of brass, a material commonly used in vintage eyewear. The way they develop a richer patina with use is one of the unique pleasures of this model.

Piano Black acetate further accentuates the sharp design of the LE CHAT, creating a dignified presence. This highly refined colorway tightens the overall look while bringing a strong sense of purpose and sophistication to any style.

Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand
Brand logo
Founded in 1921 in Oyonnax, in the Jura region of France, the brand emerged from a town renowned for its comb production. As celluloid became popular, Max Pittion transformed his father’s comb factory into an eyewear manufacturing facility called "Pittion Lunetterie" and established the brand.

Dedicated to quality and unique coloring, the company grew into a world-class eyewear manufacturer in just one generation. Max Pittion was also instrumental in the founding of SILMO, one of the world's largest international optical trade fairs, leaving a significant impact on the eyewear industry.

In the 1960s and 70s, MAX PITTION's sophisticated designs gained popularity among artists and actors, earning global recognition. However, at the height of its success, the brand announced a temporary hiatus.

In 2023, his son, Bernard Pittion, entrusted the revival of the brand to Tommy Ogara of The LIGHT Co., Ltd., who faithfully recreated the original designs. Since then, craftsmen from Sabae, Fukui, in Japan have been collaborating with the French team to produce the highest quality eyewear.
