The popular “POLITICIAN” model, with its powerful presence, is an icon of the brand.

The imposing volume of the front highlights the beauty of its meticulously polished surfaces, while the cut detailing along the lower rims lends the overall design just the right touch of sharpness. True to its name, “POLITICIAN,” this frame exudes both intelligence and authority.

While retaining the substantial feel unique to celluloid frames rooted in French vintage eyewear, its exquisite balance gives it a contemporary reinterpretation and a refined air.

The hinges are made of brass, a material widely used in vintage eyewear. The patina that develops with wear is one of the pleasures unique to this model. At the joint, an advanced technique is used: the frame and hinge are assembled, then cut diagonally together. This reveals the exceptional craftsmanship involved in finishing materials of differing hardness as a single piece.

Piano Black acetate further enhances the model’s distinctive strength and dignity.

Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand
Brand logo
Founded in 1921 in Oyonnax, in the Jura region of France, the brand emerged from a town renowned for its comb production. As celluloid became widely used, Max Pittion transformed his father’s comb factory into the eyewear manufacturer "Pittion Lunetterie" and established the brand.

With a commitment to quality and unique coloring, he grew the company into a global eyewear manufacturer within a single generation. He was also instrumental in the founding of SILMO, one of the world's largest international eyewear trade fairs, leaving a lasting impact on the eyewear industry.

Although MAX PITTION gained global recognition in the 1960s and 70s as its sophisticated designs became popular among artists and actors, the brand announced a hiatus at the height of its popularity.

In 2023, his son, Bernard Pittion, entrusted the revival of the brand to Tommy Ogara of The LIGHT Co., Ltd., who has faithfully reproduced the original designs.

Since then, craftsmen in Sabae, Fukui, Japan, have been collaborating with the French team to produce the highest quality eyewear.
