The metal frame "M3166" stands out with its geometric beauty and delicate craftsmanship.

The polygonal shape, skillfully combining straight lines and curves, creates an intellectual individuality different from classic round or pantos. While having a sharp impression, the form composed with an exquisite balance fits the face well, adding a subtle presence to the wearer's expression.

Titanium material is adopted for the front. Although it has a minimalist design with unnecessary parts removed, the temples with exquisite engraving characteristic of MATSUDA give a solid sense of craftsmanship. The shape, said to be inspired by industrial design and metal decoration of the late 19th century, forms a unique worldview that is neither simply classic nor modern.

The color is "BG (Brushed Gold)".
Thanks to the brushed gold finish that suppresses the gloss, it is a coloring that combines glamour and elegance. While suppressing the strong assertion seen in general gold frames, it wears a soft shine that blends well with the skin, bringing a high-quality depth to the face.

A pair where understated luxury and architectural, structural design coexist. This is a model where you can fully enjoy the sculptural sense unique to MATSUDA and the precise finish created by Japanese craftsmanship.

Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand
Brand logo
MATSUDA is a luxury eyewear brand founded in 1989 by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, the designer who founded the fashion brand “NICOLE” and led the Japanese fashion scene in the 1980s as one of the “Top Designers Six (TD6).”

Drawing on the aesthetic sensibilities cultivated during his career as a fashion designer, Matsuda fuses classic, avant-garde, and architectural elements. By combining the exquisite craftsmanship of skilled Japanese artisans with carefully selected materials such as titanium and acetate, the brand creates eyewear with the meticulous detail and commanding presence of works of art.

The brand is defined by delicate metalwork and substantial, three-dimensional construction. Its original designs, evoking Victorian culture, Art Deco, and even steampunk, transcend mere vision correction to earn worldwide acclaim as “wearable art.”

In the 1990s, the brand gained widespread support overseas after being worn by Hollywood movie stars and renowned artists. Its distinctive worldview and striking sculptural beauty captivated many celebrities and fashion icons, propelling MATSUDA to global fame.

Although the brand was temporarily suspended, it was revived in 2011 by a new design team. While upholding the philosophy and craftsmanship established by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, the brand now offers collections that incorporate a contemporary sensibility.

Unswayed by the passage of time or prevailing trends, MATSUDA remains steadfast in its unique aesthetic. Its eyewear, a fusion of Japanese craftsmanship and fashion culture, continues to captivate eyewear enthusiasts around the world.
