The "M3152" is a pair of sunglasses that layers MATSUDA's signature intricate ornamentation onto a classic round shape.

The front, constructed from lightweight titanium, is based on a clean round shape, striking an exquisite balance between a design rich in detail, a moderate sense of individuality, and a natural fit for the face.

Particularly eye-catching are the side shields that wrap around the outer edges of the lenses. Inspired by the stained glass found in Parisian Gothic cathedrals, the design features delicate engraving layered with lustrous embellishments. From the iconic "M+N" engraving on the rim to the side view, this piece allows you to feel the meticulous craftsmanship that is quintessentially MATSUDA.

Color BG combines a subdued brushed gold finish with dark-toned accents. The deep hue of the side shields makes the gold trim stand out, accentuating the intricate design. The lenses are a blue-gray, with the contrast between the warmth of the gold and the cool lens color adding a sophisticated expression to the classic form.

With the elegance of traditional round sunglasses combined with intricate, architectural-inspired ornamentation, this model allows you to fully enjoy the sculptural beauty of MATSUDA in a single frame.

Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand
Brand logo
MATSUDA is a luxury eyewear brand founded in 1989 by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, the designer who founded the fashion brand “NICOLE” and led the Japanese fashion scene in the 1980s as one of the “Top Designers Six (TD6).”

Drawing on the aesthetic sensibilities cultivated during his career as a fashion designer, Matsuda fuses classic, avant-garde, and architectural elements. By combining the exquisite craftsmanship of skilled Japanese artisans with carefully selected materials such as titanium and acetate, the brand creates eyewear with the meticulous detail and commanding presence of works of art.

The brand is defined by delicate metalwork and substantial, three-dimensional construction. Its original designs, evoking Victorian culture, Art Deco, and even steampunk, transcend mere vision correction to earn worldwide acclaim as “wearable art.”

In the 1990s, the brand gained widespread support overseas after being worn by Hollywood movie stars and renowned artists. Its distinctive worldview and striking sculptural beauty captivated many celebrities and fashion icons, propelling MATSUDA to global fame.

Although the brand was temporarily suspended, it was revived in 2011 by a new design team. While upholding the philosophy and craftsmanship established by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, the brand now offers collections that incorporate a contemporary sensibility.

Unswayed by the passage of time or prevailing trends, MATSUDA remains steadfast in its unique aesthetic. Its eyewear, a fusion of Japanese craftsmanship and fashion culture, continues to captivate eyewear enthusiasts around the world.
