The "M1043" is a striking square-shaped frame incorporating trendy big-shape elements.
Despite its generously oversized fit, the corners are softly rounded to create a balanced look that is not overly bold. It offers a strong presence without being excessively dominant or overpowering the face, thanks to its exquisite design.
Newly added rivets are positioned on the front sides. The metal parts subtly stand out against the clean square shape, adding a signature MATSUDA accent.
The temples also feature a new design never before seen. The inner metal core is finely engraved, and the left and right sides feature different patterns for a meticulously crafted finish. When worn, these details do not stand out too much, allowing you to enjoy the carefully crafted, distinctive MATSUDA design.
Col. DTO is a deep dark tortoise shell. The rich brown tones with varying shades give the oversized square shape a classic feel and added depth. Combining the presence of a big shape with easy wearability, this is a quintessentially MATSUDA pair with unique details throughout.
Patterns and colours may vary slightly between individual frames and from the images shown.

About the brand +
Backed by an aesthetic sensibility cultivated as a fashion designer, the brand fuses classic, avant-garde, and architectural elements. By combining the advanced handiwork of skilled Japanese artisans with carefully selected materials such as titanium and acetate, MATSUDA creates eyewear with the precision of a craft piece and an overwhelming sense of presence.
The brand is defined by its delicate metalwork and substantial, three-dimensional structural expressions. Its unique designs, which evoke Victorian culture, Art Deco, and even steampunk, are highly regarded around the world not merely as vision-correction tools, but as "art pieces to be worn."
In the 1990s, the brand gained strong support overseas after being worn in Hollywood films and by prominent artists. Its unique worldview and overwhelming structural beauty captivated many celebrities and fashion icons, propelling the MATSUDA name to global prominence.
After a temporary hiatus, the brand was revived in 2011 by a new design team. While inheriting the philosophy and craftsmanship established by Mitsuhiro Matsuda, the brand continues to develop collections that incorporate a contemporary sensibility.
Unaffected by eras or trends, MATSUDA persists in upholding its own unique aesthetic. Its eyewear, a fusion of Japanese artisan technique and fashion culture, continues to fascinate eyewear enthusiasts around the world to this day.
