A limited-edition model with special specifications born from a collaboration between MATSUDA and Kokuryu Sake Brewery, a brewery representing Fukui Prefecture.

To commemorate the 60th birthday of Naoto Mizuno, the 8th generation brewery owner of Kokuryu Sake Brewery, a special Bordeaux acetate material was produced exclusively for this model. The deep red color possesses an elegance and presence befitting this milestone celebration.

The logos of MATSUDA and Kokuryu Sake Brewery are engraved on the inside of the temples. Furthermore, special details unique to this collaboration are incorporated throughout, such as the addition of the characters “Kaku,” which celebrate a splendid milestone in life. The frames are meticulously polished by skilled artisans in Sabae, resulting in a beautiful luster and a rich, three-dimensional appearance.

The design is based on a distinctive Wellington shape and features a television cut that creates a three-dimensional effect around the lenses. In addition to the high durability provided by seven-piece hinges, the temple cores, hinges, and metal parts feature MATSUDA’s signature exquisite engraving, creating a sense of weight and an artisanal presence.

The rarity of this model, limited to 220 pairs worldwide, is also one of its major attractions. The color is “BOR60 (Bordeaux 60),” a special color symbolizing the 60th birthday.

Special attention has also been paid to the accessories. The outer box features a circular design with a dragon motif calligraphied by calligrapher Juichi Yoshikawa. The same design is also used on the glasses pouch and large case. Furthermore, the cylindrical dedicated case is specially designed not only for storage, but also for display, allowing the glasses to be hung or placed upright on the temple as a stand.
