MATSUDA’s “10605H” updates an archival model first introduced in 1995 with a contemporary interpretation.

Based on a round shape, these striking combination sunglasses pair Japanese acetate with meticulously crafted metal parts.

The most distinctive feature is the three-dimensional metal rim, which extends boldly forward at the top. Inspired by the headlights of 1920s classic cars, this design gives the rounded lenses a unique sense of depth and a bold, sculptural presence.

The front also features two types of acetate layered and precision-milled to create depth and subtle color accents. The result is a design that embodies MATSUDA’s signature creativity, blending classic motifs with architectural forms.

The metal parts positioned from the bridge to the temples are adorned with MATSUDA’s characteristic intricate detailing, lending the entire frame an artisanal, substantial feel. The soft texture of the acetate contrasts beautifully with the hard, sleek finish of the metal.

Color MGP offers an elegant combination of black and muted gold.

MATSUDA is a luxury eyewear brand founded in 1989 by fashion brand “NICOLE” founder Mitsuhiro Matsuda, a designer who led the Japanese fashion scene in the 1980s as one of the “Top Designer Six (TD6).”

Drawing on the aesthetic sensibilities cultivated as a fashion designer, the brand fuses classic, avant-garde, and architectural elements. By combining highly advanced craftsmanship by skilled Japanese artisans with carefully selected materials such as titanium and acetate, MATSUDA creates eyewear with the meticulousness of art pieces and an overwhelming presence.

The brand is characterized by delicate metalwork and a profound, three-dimensional structural expression. Its original designs, reminiscent of Victorian culture, Art Deco, and even steampunk, have earned high acclaim worldwide not merely as vision correction devices, but as “wearable art pieces.”
