"197" is a metal frame that reinterprets classic styles with a modern, trendy feel.

Each pair is crafted in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture—one of the world’s leading eyewear-producing regions—by a select group of artisans, who complete approximately 400 steps by hand. The subtle artistry of the meticulous handwork, concentrated in the structure and form of frames that appear simple at first glance, gives each product both distinction and exceptional comfort.

EYEVAN was founded in 1972 under the theme of “eyewear to wear,” and made its international debut in 1985 through a select shop in Los Angeles. The brand name “7285” pays tribute to these two years: ’72 and ’85.

In 2013, EYEVAN 7285 was launched as a project to reimagine that spirit and its vast archive of technical drawings for the modern age.
