SNEAK PEEK / MUSIC INSPIRED EYEWEAR
Eyewear born from music. 4 SNEAK PEEK recommended models.
Eyewear design sometimes reflects not just shapes and materials, but the culture behind them.
SNEAK PEEK is a brand where designer Tomohiro Mori translates impressions from music, films, and other influences he loves into the lines, curves, and cuttings of his frames.
In this feature, we pick out four models from the DOWNTOWN lineup that have a particularly striking connection to music. We will take a detailed look at the designs, along with the songs that served as their inspiration.
About SNEAK PEEK

SNEAK PEEK is a Japanese eyewear brand established in 2024 by designer Tomohiro Mori. Based in his workshop in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, he handles almost every step of the process himself, from design to production.
At the foundation is classic eyewear. By layering elements of music, film, motorcycles, and vintage clothing, he creates unique frames that go beyond simple vintage reproduction.
The brand name, "SNEAK PEEK," carries the meaning of an advanced screening or preview. It is infused with the desire to deliver the excitement one feels when seeing something before the rest of the world.

There are many models in the SNEAK PEEK collection named after songs. What makes them unique is that he isn't just attaching the titles of favorite songs to his models.
He translates the personalities, the atmosphere of the era, the tension, and the softness he perceives in the music into the frame's silhouette, thickness, curves, and cuts.
From thick acetate to high bridges and temple placements reminiscent of vintage pieces, and three-dimensional cuts that change expression depending on the light—even if the shapes differ model by model, the concept of "transforming culture into form" is what defines SNEAK PEEK.
Crazy Diamondcol.Black

Shine On You Crazy Diamond
Pink Floyd
Wish You Were Here / 1975
Quiet lingering echo → Polyhedral silhouette
"Shine On You Crazy Diamond" begins with a long intro as sounds gradually layer on top of one another, followed by the emergence of David Gilmour's guitar. It is an homage to former member Syd Barrett, framing the beginning and end of the album *Wish You Were Here*. Here, we feature Parts 1–5 from the beginning.
Rather than being flashy, it is a piece where one feels nostalgia and strength within the silence and negative space. The SNEAK PEEK "Crazy Diamond" translates that atmosphere into a unique silhouette reminiscent of a multi-faceted diamond.

It looks classic from the front, but when you change the angle, the cut surfaces catch the light, revealing multiple expressions on the front.
In the Black color, this shading is particularly clear; while it is a simple black frame, it possesses a presence different from your standard Wellington or Boston style. It retains an atmosphere reminiscent of French vintage, yet doesn't look like a simple reproduction of old frames. That balance is the charm of this model.
Little Wingcol.Tobacco Sunburst

Little Wing
The Jimi Hendrix Experience
Axis: Bold as Love / 1967
Delicacy and edge → Expression of top and bottom, and brown gradients
"Little Wing," featured on *Axis: Bold as Love*, condenses ethereal guitar work and soft vocals into a short track.
The SNEAK PEEK "Little Wing" is characterized by the different expressions of the frame's upper and lower halves. The upper rim and lug are given volume and bold cuttings, while the lower rim retains a soft roundness.

As a result, edgy strength and a somewhat calm gentleness coexist within a single frame.
In particular, I want you to look at the Tobacco Sunburst. It is a color inspired by the "sunburst" familiar on guitar bodies, where the brown gradients and the shifting tortoiseshell pattern change within a single frame. It’s not just the song; even the color name is linked to music. It is a quintessential SNEAK PEEK piece.
The Endcol.Black

Tension → Three-dimensional cut with changing angles
"The End," which closes the 1967 debut album *The Doors*, begins with a quiet intro and builds tension over a long period of time.
The SNEAK PEEK model of the same name also has a structure that evokes that taut atmosphere. The upper rim is given significant volume, and a three-dimensional cutting is applied that shifts angles around the rivet.

By adding straight lines into the classic silhouette, it achieves an expression with suppressed sweetness.
In Black, the transition of surfaces appears as shading, and the three-dimensionality is highlighted not just from the front, but when viewed from an angle. If you trace the line from the rivet to the rim while listening to the song, you can see the tension in this frame.
Rehabcol.Black

Rebellious spirit and delicacy → Upswept upper rim and low temple placement
With its soul-inspired sound from the 60s and straightforward, rebellious lyrics, "Rehab" leaves a lasting impression. SNEAK PEEK and DOWNTOWN found the inspiration for this collaboration in the song that opens *Back to Black*.
"Rehab" is not a separate colorway of an existing model. It is a completely original model created through a collaboration between SNEAK PEEK and DOWNTOWN from the ground up, from the design concept to the size balance. It is available exclusively at DOWNTOWN.

The base is a Wellington. At first glance it looks authentic, but the upper rim is slightly upswept, and the front features bold cutting. Furthermore, by extending the temples from a low position at the lugs, the design emphasizes the front's thickness and presence.
Rather than leaning only on the rebellious strength Amy Winehouse possessed, the point of this model is the balance that also retains delicacy. Although it is a strong black frame, the edges are not too sharp, making it easy for both men and women to wear and incorporate into daily life.
Listen to the song, see the shape.
When you line up the four SNEAK PEEK frames, you can see that even within the same brand, the construction differs significantly depending on the song.
Crazy Diamond, which transformed a quiet lingering echo into a polyhedral silhouette.
Little Wing, where delicacy and edge coexist.
The End, which transformed tension into a three-dimensional cutting.
And Rehab, created in collaboration with DOWNTOWN.
If you love music, please take a look at the glasses while listening to the songs.
